Having served nearly 7 years in the US Navy, Luke has come to University of Oregon by way of Rogue Community College where he is utilizing his GI Bill to complete a B.S. in Psychology. As a disabled veteran, Luke is retraining into a field that is better suited to his limitations and into a career where he can also give back to fellow Veterans. Luke was recently admitted into the McNair Scholars Program at the University of Oregon to better prepare himself in his pursuit of a Ph.D. in Psychology. Luke came to the Groups and War Lab as a Research Assistant to better understand the psychological effects of war. In addition, he hopes to become a better researcher and direct his own research toward exploring ways of mitigating the cause and effect of PTSD and assist Veterans in making a successful transition from soldiers to civilians.
